We're 15 days into 2021 - halfway through the first month of what we all hope is a year full of health and happiness. Despite the many uncertainties we continue to face, the turn of a new year is a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect and envision a healthy and happy year ahead.
Mother Love Challenge 2020 (MOLO) has been a whirlwind of ups and downs. Most importantly, it has been full of positive changes. I was so excited to start my first MOLO and really wanted to put my all into it.
I am so thankful that I was putting the time and effort into making myself a priority during the Mother Love Challenge (MOLO 2020). It helped me lay a solid foundation of support during these uncertain times.
The amount of well-intentioned health advice out there can be overwhelming for anyone. My health outcome would have been very different without the direction and support of my Mom Strong community through the Mother Love Challenge. Here are my top 5 MOLO takeaways (BONUS - I've been maintaining each of these for the past 4 years).
By the end of MOLO, I was 24 weeks pregnant and felt better than I had in a long time. For the first time in my life, I actually enjoy working out and am physically stronger than I have ever been. It is important to me to keep up with my progress and to teach my family the importance of not just physical health, but mental health as well.
I pushed myself harder than I ever have before and realized how strong I am. My attitude changed and my body started to change as well. I made my wellness a priority. I learned to fuel my body AND my spirit. Slowly, I became the person who could encourage others...THAT has been a powerful aha moment for me.
