Mom Strong Interview: Kasey Johnson, Owner Momleta Frisco, Little Elm & Plano, TX
Event planner, Kasey Johnson, became a fitness professional and purchased a MOMLETA franchise in Frisco & Plano, Texas. Find out more about what she loves about her work and how COVID-19 has affected her life.
Q: What city/state do you live in and how long have you lived there?
A: I've lived in Frisco, Texas for 15 years
Q: How many children do you have and what are their ages?
A: I have 3 daughters - ages 20, 8 & 3.
Q: How long have you been a MOMLETA franchise owner?
A: I've owned MOMLETA Frisco, Plano for almost 2 years.
Q: How did you find out about MOMLETA?
A: I was walking in a mall (before kids) and saw a sign and knew I wanted to try it once I had babies.
Q: Why did you become an owner?
A: I love the community so much. I have made some of my very best friends through MOMLETA and we've been through the ups and downs of motherhood together. I also like setting a good example for my children. Seeing their Mom working and owning a business is good for them, but more importantly, it's the healthy lifestyle that I like them to see and begin to model. I remind them every day that exercise is a vital part of a health journey.
Q: What are the top three things you love about being a MOMLETA franchise owner?
A: I love the fact that I get to choose my own schedule as an owner and business person and I get to be with my kids. I have no worries about childcare because my girls come with me to work. I love seeing the impact MOMLETA has on moms. Moms in my community and even husbands reach out to me saying what a positive impact this has had on their lives. Making an impact means a lot to me. And staying healthy and setting a good example for my kids is so important. My girls know I contribute to the household and am making a difference.
Q: What would you be doing if you were not a MOMLETA franchise owner?
A: I would be a stay at home mom.
Q: Prior to becoming a fitness professional, what did you do?
A: I was a Global Event Planner. I loved what I did but after having kids, it became very hard to maintain a heavy travel schedule. My husband travels too so it got difficult after we had our middle daughter. I like that I can bring a tiny bit of my event planning experience to MOMLETA through the play dates, Mom's Nights Out, crafts during classes, and other activities!
Q: What did your family & work life look like before March 2020?
A: Life was actually pretty hectic. My husband traveled 60% of the time and we were always busy with birthday parties, after school activities, etc.
Q: What does your family & work life look like now?
A: Life has slowed down quite a bit. It's been nice to reconnect as a family and not have to be somewhere different all the time.
Q: What three things do you miss most?
A: I miss the freedom to be spontaneous, physically seeing friends and family, and HUGS!
Q: What three things do you not miss?
A: I do NOT miss being over-booked all the time, feeling like I have to say "yes" to everything, and not nearly enough quality time with family or for myself.
Q: If you had $10K and two weeks to travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and who would you go with?
A: I would love to go on a tour of Italy with my husband. In an ideal world, I would love to have the kids there for part of the trip, but would also really like the quality time with my husband. It's our goal to go for my 40th birthday and thanks to MOMLETA, I'll get there!
